Digital degree certificates to be introduced

Diplomas in a pile.

Digital degree certificates will be introduced in April as part of the University’s focus on innovation, digitalisation and sustainability. This means that degree certificates no longer need to be printed out on paper and sent by post. The processing of degree certificates will be faster, smoother and more secure for students, doctoral students and administrators.

The change applies to all first, second and third-cycle degrees.

In connection with the transition to digital degree certificates, the Ladok service for degree certificate applications will be temporary closed from 16:00 on 15 March to 8:00 on 15 April while the system is updated. The issuing of digital degree certificates will begin as of 15 April 2024.

A digital degree certificate contains the same information and has the same value as a printed certificate and has several advantages for both students and staff. Digital processing increases the efficiency of the administrative process and ensures that the student gains access to their degree certificate faster and more easily. Students will receive their degree certificate via Ladok and can send it digitally to employers and other recipients. If a certified printed copy is required, this can be ordered from the Degree Office. The introduction of digital degree certificates is more sustainable due to greater efficiency and because we will move away from printouts, paper consumption and postal delivery.
