An exhibition based on news items from Lund University’s research account on Instagram is now on display in a shop window on a square in central Lund, Knut den stores torg.

The collaborative organisation Lund Citysamverkan took the initiative a few years ago to start a collaboration with Lund University to highlight knowledge, research and innovation through displays in the shop windows of temporarily vacant retail premises in Lund. The aim was  to create a new awareness-raising and attractive element in the cityscape.

The first exhibition was about female Nobel Prize laureates in Physics and was presented last year at premises on the corner of Skomakargatan and Vårfrugatan.

In the new display, passers-by can read about examples of the University’s research in the shop window.

The current exhibition is at premises owned by Grand Hotel/Lundia, which are empty, awaiting extension work on Lundia.

Corporate Communication has produced the exhibition, which is based on a selection of research news items from the past year presented in the short form used in the Instagram account lundsuniversitet_research – an account that has grown considerably recently and now has more than 11,000 followers.

Highlighted research on display includes items on smart great tits, the hunt for universally acceptable blood, how good readers have a particular brain anatomy, and how the 2020s are an echo of the 1920s.

The exhibition will run for around six months and Grand Hotel/Lundia have made the premises available at no charge.
