Philanthropy Day is celebrated on 15 November

Two roses on a blue background.

On 15 November, the University marks Philanthropy Day! As part of the occasion, the University wishes to extend a warm thank you to all who actively show interest and support our operations.

Philanthropy Day is a day when people across the globe highlight the importance of philanthropy for our society. Philanthropy and donations have an increasingly significant role for universities in Sweden, and Lund University is no exception. A donation brings investments that can help develop our organisation and ultimately make a real difference in society.

Together, we create the conditions for new collaborations around projects that need funding. With the help of donations, Lund University has been able to strengthen many areas, such as research, teaching, grants, equipment, infrastructure and buildings.

Examples of areas that have received invaluable support in the past year include the research project, Hallen på Höjden in Uppåkra, the Palm House in the Botanical Gardens, NanoLund and grants for Master’s students.

Lund University will mark the occasion through advertising in the digital press, a thank you page on www.lu.se, and animated videos on our social media channels. There will also be an event for the Vice-Chancellor’s management group and specially invited guests, at Skissernas Museum.
