Research Ethics for Research Staff at Lund University

Illustration of Justitia.

What ethical challenges might you come across in your research and how should you deal with them? A new course aimed at all the University’s researchers will help you orientate yourself in research ethics issues.

The course is structured around five themes within research ethics: academic freedom, good research practice in experiments on humans, animal experiments and other issues that affect your role as a researcher. You will also find out what support functions and resources are available at Lund University and how to contact them.

The course also includes a presentation of research ethics: laws and guidelines.

The course is aimed at research staff in all faculties, apart from doctoral students, who are provided with similar information during their compulsory research ethics course.

The course is being developed by the Unit of Medical Ethics at Lund University. Contact person: Niklas Vareman niklas [dot] vareman [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se

You can do the course when it suits you – it is a self-study course that takes three hours to complete.

Read more about the course and sign up on Kompetensportalen.

The course is part of the HR Excellence in Research award project and has been developed in one of the five sub-projects in the ongoing action plan to maintain certification.
