This year’s doctoral degree conferment ceremony, the University’s ceremonial highlight and the faculties’ most important academic celebration, have taken the record for the number of conferees. 266 doctors, 15 honorary doctors and 67 jubilee doctors were celebrated.

In a solemn ceremony at Lund Cathedral, the doctoral students who completed their doctoral studies in the past year and successfully defended their doctoral theses at Lund University  have their degrees conferred. At the ceremony, degrees are also conferred on the faculties’ honorary doctors. Doctors who completed their doctoral degrees 50 years ago become jubilee doctors.
