The term of office for the Vice-Chancellor of Lund University expires at the end of 2026. Between 17 December and 1 February, it was possible to nominate someone for the position or apply for it yourself.
Now that the deadline for nominations and applications has passed, six people have applied for the position and eight have been nominated by someone else. Five are women and nine are men.
The next step is for the Recruitment Committee to select candidates and decide who will be invited to an initial interview, which will take place in March.
A new Vice-Chancellor is appointed for six years. The appointment can then be renewed for three years. In a few cases, the Government has extended the appointment for a further three years.
