Seed money for course and programme development

International collaborations within the EUGLOH alliance

Developing new courses and programs is an important part of the work as a teacher, but it is also a time-consuming process. Now you can apply for seed money to develop new courses and programs in collaboration with foreign universities.

To ensure that the educational offer at the University is of high quality and meets the needs of the future, the university management wishes to stimulate the development of new courses and programmes and at the same time set demands for elements of internationalisation. The subject content should meet the needs of future society but is not limited to any subject.

When can you apply for seed money?

The deadline for applications is 1 February 2025, and the announcements will recur every year. The EUGLOH steering group at Lund University will make the decision about which applications will be granted seed money. Granted funds must be used during the calendar year in which they have been granted and they can be used to cover Lund University's salary costs for course development.

Granted projects must send in a report by 31 January 2026 at the latest, which describes how the funds have been used and what results have been achieved.

Develop courses together with EUGLOH partners

As a teacher at Lund University, you can apply for up to SEK 100,000 in seed money for the development of courses in collaboration with teachers from at least one other EUGLOH partner. The seed money can be used to cover Lund University's salary costs for course development. In addition, you can apply for a travel grant for your own trips to the partner university of up to SEK 25,000.

You can apply for funding from the Education Board for educations within the framework of EUGLOH to cover full-year student/full-year performance (HST/HPR). The application is made in October for the upcoming year through the Vice Dean at your faculty.

Criteria for application to develop courses

  • The course must be planned, and later implemented, in collaboration with teachers from at least one other EUGLOH partner. The initial contacts at the partner university must already be established at the time of application.
  • The course can be online, on-site teaching or a mixture of online and on-site teaching.
  • The course must be open to students from the EUGLOH universities and have English as the language of instruction.
  • The course must be between 2.5 ECTS and 10 ECTS and be offered at bachelor or master level.
  • Courses with student-centered learning will be prioritised, but other elements of innovative pedagogy and digital teaching will also be rewarded.

Teachers can turn to EduLab to get support in the process of developing the course
