Law, medicine and economics remain the most popular subjects at Lund University

More than 34,000 people have applied for the University's programmes for the spring semester of 2026. Law tops the list of the most attractive programmes, followed by medicine and economics.

A total of 34,869 people have applied for the University's programmes and courses for the spring semester of 2026, or 39,011 if courses within programmes are included. The number of first-choice applicants is 16,313.

As in previous years, the Law Degree Programme tops the list of the most sought-after programmes, with 4,666 applicants, 1,785 of whom have Lund as their first choice. In second place is the Medical Programme, followed by the Bachelor Programme in Business Administration and Economics
