Course about ongoing deadly violence (ODV)

Police tape on a door.

In an ongoing deadly violence (ODV) situation, it is important to act in a rapid and effective way. Since late last year, a procured course has been available to increase preparedness for possible ODV situations. During the course, the participants learn, among other things, to obstruct any perpetrator or perpetrators as much as possible and act in a way that means as few people as possible are seriously injured.

After the course, the participants will:

  • Understand what characterises ODV and what can be done in such a situation.
  • Have acquired knowledge on invacuation, evacuation, lock-down and how to barricade.
  • Have acquired an understanding of stress and crisis reactions.

The course (in Swedish) is mainly intended for organisational units whose staff members operate in an environment where there is a risk of being subjected to threats and violence. However, the course can be ordered by any manager who wants to prepare their organisational unit for an ODV event.

The course (and further information) can be ordered via LUPIN.

For the moment the course is only held in Swedish, but if there is a demand of a English course, contact: fredrik [dot] bexell [at] byggnad [dot] lu [dot] se.
