The workshop series explores generative AI in relation to higher education, focusing on its implications for teaching, student learning and university teachers. The starting point is to critically reflect on what the new technology may mean for the mission and values of universities, for the purpose, content and design of teaching, and what challenges may arise in the encounter between generative AI and academic learning and ideals.
The workshops combine practical, exploratory elements with discussions. Before the seminars, participants will prepare by reading and reflecting on texts that will then be discussed at the meetings. All sessions will be largely based on participants' interests, questions and experiences of AI and its effects on teaching and higher education.
The aim is for participants to develop a deeper and critical understanding of the relationship between generative AI, teaching and academia in general – and to be strengthened in their professional role in light of these changes.
The workshops are primarily aimed at academic teachers or university employees with teaching responsibilities. The workshops are held in English and are completely independent; you can attend whichever workshop you wish. It is not possible to participate online.
