Education board to focus on educational development, lifelong learning and widening participation in recruitment

The Education Board’s plan of operations for 2022 has now been approved. The plan focuses on four areas and a vision and ideas document is to guide the development of our education over the next few years.

The Education Board has now approved its plan of operations for 2022. The process of drafting the plan was different this time, starting as early as November last year, with a workshop with the board members and the participation of pro vice-chancellors Ann-Kristin Wallengren and Kristina Eneroth.

Together, we arrived at a plan that focuses on four overarching areas: a vision and ideas document, educational development, lifelong learning and widening participation, and quality assurance work. Each area comprises more specific activities and projects, such as: working with micro-qualifications, an experimental workshop for new courses, and support for cross-faculty discussions and exchange of experiences on quality assurance work.

Above all, I would like to highlight the first area, a vision and ideas document that, once it has been produced, will function as a guide for future work on the education we offer at Lund University. The vision and ideas document will address areas such as teaching methods, digitalisation, lifelong learning and internationalisation. It will also build on the experiences from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both Ann-Kristin Wallengren and I have felt the lack of a clear vision to guide our efforts on Lund University’s educational development and we very much look forward to this work!
