With the aim of strengthening and developing the University’s international impact in research, education, external engagement and innovation, a new way of working has been decided by the Vice-Chancellor. The University’s international work is to be based on an approach called Global Dynamic Engagement (GDE).

GDE is to be a proactive way of working on international matters and act as support for navigation in a constantly changing world. GDE is also a way to concretise the Platform for Strategic Work, which provides guidance for efforts in this area.

By staying updated on global challenges and through continuous external analysis, annual frameworks, so-called GDE-F, are produced. This framework is adapted to the prevailing reality in the geographical areas in which the University is engaged. The material produced is processed by the International Council, which also provides recommendations in the form of road maps for the university-wide work in the coming year. The road maps are to state the orientation of the work and contain prioritised activities for each geographical area.

The road maps for 2023 have now been decided by the Vice-Chancellor for all geographical areas. They state the focus of the work, but do not exclude other issues that may become relevant for prioritisation. This is in accordance with the method used for the Platform for Strategic Work, which Lund University is working to regarding 2023-2024.
