Student mobility – guidance and tools

This information is primarily intended for staff handling international student mobility.

Student Experience and Mobility (Swedish acronym MMS) aims to support the organisation through university-wide service for Swedish and international students, system development and support as well as coordination of information on processes and deadlines. MMS works closely with the faculties’ international offices.

Processes and service

Managing exchange students

Managing student mobility is a complex process that occurs in several stages, in several systems and sometimes involves several officers. On the pages below, you will find timelines, important dates and information about service and support.

Systems for student mobility

Ladok

The travel reports portal utlandsstudier.lu.se

The travel reports portal gathers accounts from students who have experienced international mobility via Lund University. The aim of the portal is both to inspire and to disseminate knowledge about our exchange partner universities. The relevant faculty is responsible for urging the students to write their travel reports. The faculty is also responsible for reviewing the travel reports before publication. You can help to market the portal via the faculty’s website and information meetings. External Relations are responsible for operating and developing the system.

Instagram: @lund_university_abroad

The @lund_university_abroad Instagram shows students from Lund University who are currently abroad, on exchange studies, internships or fieldwork. The students take over the Instagram account for a week at a time and show images, brief stories from their everyday life abroad and video. The aim is to inspire and to show the breadth of opportunities available to students at Lund University. The Instagram account is run by exchange ambassadors who are paid by the hour and supervised by MMS.

Subscribe to the International Desk Newsletter

The International Desk Newsletter is aimed at current international students in Lund. The Newsletter provides information about relevant and useful events and seminars and explains Swedish holidays and traditions. During the academic year approximately one newsletter per month is sent via email to registered international exchange, bachelor and master students. Current mailing lists are retrieved from Ladok. You do not need to forward the newsletters to your students or distribute the subscription link to students.
