A process-oriented approach and the Process unit as a function
At Lund University, we work with support activities in a process-oriented way. The Process unit at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Strategic Development Office, provides assistance with methods and structure.
Process methodology within Lund University
The Process unit provides support to process owners and process managers. We use established methodology to facilitate and document.
It is mainly within our support activities that we work in a process-oriented way. Every process area has a process owner, who in most cases is also the head of division within the central administration.
Half-day training in process methodology for all staff
For all employees who are interested, we provide a half-day training session on the topic “The benefits of a process-oriented approach” (in Swedish)
Specialisation for process owners and process managers
For process owners and process managers who want to advance their knowledge, we recommend the courses offered by Trivector Logiq.
Main process map
The most comprehensive description of the University's main processes, management processes and support processes are illustrated in a main process map.
Why map processes?
It is a good method for gaining a holistic understanding and enabling development and improvement. Within the central administration, many processes have been mapped but some of them were mapped several years ago.
If you are interested in seeing some of the process maps, please email your request to Processkontoret [at] rektor [dot] lu [dot] se ().
The Process unit has also provided support with presenting the processes at a department level. The results of the processes, however, are owned by the departments themselves.
