SDG tagging in LUCRIS – progress report

Screenshoot from Research Portal SDG-goals 2024-03-18.

Tagging of Sustainable Development Goals was introduced in LUCRIS six months ago. SDG tagging means that all publications and research output in the University’s Research Portal (LUCRIS) are linked to one of Agenda 2030’s Sustainable Development Goals.

An analysis conducted on 26 February 2024 shows that one-third of the University’s research output can be linked to one of the Sustainable Development Goals and links have increased compared with the year before.

In 2023, the University’s research output stood at 9,837 of which 3,327 (33.8%) had one or more SDG tags. The percentage of SDG tags in 2022 was 30%.

Of the total of 226,941 articles in LUCRIS, 44,389 have SDG tags, which corresponds to 19.5% (this includes all types, validated or for revalidation).

Regarding the number of people whose research has SDG tags, 5,621 individuals in LUCRIS currently have one or more SDG tags. This only includes people who were active LU staff members at the time of the tagging (those who retroactively fulfilled the criterion are not included).

Of the 10,235 individuals who have a visible profile in the research portal, 5,390 (53%) have SDG tags.
