What: Anna Lindh Lecture “Reconciliation – a political possibility?” by Antje Jackelén, the Archbishop and Primate of the Church of Sweden 2014-2022

Antje Jackelén
Dr. Antje Jackelén was the Archbishop and Primate of the Church of Sweden 2014-2022 and prior to that Bishop of the Diocese of Lund. She received her doctorate from Lund University, Sweden, and was Associate Professor of Systematic Theology/Religion and Science at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), USA (2001-2007), as well as the director of the Zygon Center for Religion and Science (2003-2007) and president of the European Society for the Study of Science and Theology (ESSSAT, 2008- 2014).

Her research interests include interdisciplinary work at the inter- section of religion and science, the role of religion in society as well as ecumenism and interfaith dialogue.

She has published several books and numerous articles, academic as well as popular in character. Her most recent books are God is Greater: Theology for the World (2020) and Otålig i hoppet (‘Impatient in hope – theological reflections in the time of the pandemic’) (2020). She holds three honorary degrees and serves as the Nordic Vice President of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and Co-President of Religions for Peace.

The Anna Lindh Lecture
The Anna Lindh Lecture pays homage to the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, who was assassinated in 2003. Since 2005, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute, Lund University, in cooperation with the Anna Lindh Memorial Fund and Lund University’s Association of Foreign Affairs, have hosted the annual event. The lecture highlights human rights matters with a speech from a distinguished scholar, politician, diplomat or international top-level civil servant.
