Glasses for computer work
Lund University is legally obliged to provide glasses for computer work for employees who spend more than an hour a day working with a computer screen and where normal glasses are not sufficient.
Under Swedish Work Environment Authority regulation AFS 1998:5, Section 6, employees who normally work on a computer for more than an hour a day are to have an eye examination. “An eye and eyesight test shall subsequently be provided at regular intervals and whenever the employee reports discomforts which may be connected with the visual demands of the work.”
Agreement with Synoptik
Lund University has a government procurement agreement with the optician chain Synoptik. This agreement includes eye examinations. If the eye examination shows that special work glasses for screen work are required, the agreement also covers lenses and frames from a basic range.
