Description

The group covers a wide field of physiological research. Several senior, clinical scientists pursue clinical research in cooperation with hospital departments, but also with university departments with an emphasis of developing new diagnostic techniques. We thus cooperate with the Dept. of Ergonomics and Aerosol Technology for development of a conceptually new technique for diagnosis of emphysema and with the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering on evaluation of longitudinal arterial wall movement with Doppler ultrasound. Another strong field of research is physical activity and exercise physiology. In addition to physiological research questions, we study the relation to body composition in cooperation with the Dept. of Orthopedics and the interaction with psychological and sociological factors in cooperation with the Dept. of Exercise Science at Malmö University.
