The 2023 Administrative Prize is awarded to Lena Nielsen and Gabriella Johansson

Gabriella Johansson and Lena Nielsen

The Administrative Prize is awarded annually for outstanding administrative efforts of an innovative nature that have contributed to the University’s development, or for extraordinary service and efficiency.

The 2023 prize winners are programme planner Lena Nielsen from LTH’s faculty office (Education Unit) and librarian Gabriella Johansson, from the Social Sciences Faculty Library. They are each awarded SEK 15,000 for their own professional development.

With this award, the University Management wishes to recognise extraordinary contributions in administration throughout the University. The Administrative Prize will be presented at the University’s annual academic ceremony on 27 January 2023.

From the nominations:

Gabriella Johansson, librarian, Social Sciences Faculty Library

“Gabriella Johansson is a librarian whose versatility and engagement deserve recognition. The libraries at Lund University undertake much more than simply the provision of information, and librarians like Gabriella are essential in ensuring that our services are up-to-date, relevant and accessible to all.

Gabriella shows great dedication in her work to support students with reading difficulties. She is one of the University’s most knowledgeable and experienced audiobook librarians, and she has followed technological developments in the area for 20 years.”

Lena Nielsen at LTH’s faculty office (Education Unit)

“Lena Nielsen has exceptional knowledge of almost everything to do with the University’s regulations and has an incredible capacity for work! Lena has the valuable ability to see consequences of a decision that are not immediately obvious to most people. Thanks to this, better and more durable decisions can be taken.

Lena Nielsen has the important qualities that Lund University looks for in all employees: skill, efficiency, precision, integrity and a constructive, positive response to everyone who approaches her for help.”
