Latin America

Latin America is a dynamic region with a strong educational tradition and long-standing academic institutions. Lund University cooperates with several higher education institutions and organisations in the region, in the fields of education and research. Our collaborations are extensive and generate significant mobility to and from Latin America for students, teaching staff, researchers and other staff.

The Latin America Group

At Lund University, there is a Latin America group whose task is to promote and coordinate LU’s collaborations with organisations and higher education institutions in Latin America. The group meets four times a year, and offers support for university-wide initiatives by providing guidance to the University management in issues concerning strategic investments in the region.

The group is composed of the following members:
Stacey Sörensen – Pro Vice-Chancellor for research and research infrastructure – chair
Martin Tunér – Faculty of Engineering (LTH)
Patrik Olsson – Faculty of Social Sciences
Henrik Rahm – Faculties of Humanities and Theology
Carlos Rovira – Faculty of Medicine
Lars Andersson – Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts
Markus Lahtinen – School of Economics and Management
Vacant – Faculty of Science
Vacant – Faculty of Law

Miguel Cornejo Herrera – External Relations – secretary
