International Impact Actions

International Impact Actions to stimulate and support activities that enhance our international impact in research, education, innovation and collaboration are part of the University’s work with Global Dynamic Engagement (GDE).

Through calls for funding, employees at Lund University can apply for funding to develop international collaborations and participate in activities that align with the priorities of GDE. Information about funding type, target audience and which partner universities the call includes can be found under each respective call.

During 2024 and 2025, doctoral students at Lund University have extended opportunities to receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for a stay at a partner university outside the EU/EEA. You can gather materials for your thesis or participate in skills development. You can also teach at a partner institution.

You are responsible for finding a host for your stay at one of the following partner universities

The process consists of two steps

  1. Expression of interest through a specific form. The deadline for application is 21 August 2024.
  2. After confirmation that you have secured a place, you can apply for the Erasmus+ scholarship according to specific instructions.

During 2024 and 2025, teachers and researchers at LU have expanded opportunities to receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for a stay at a partner university outside the EU/EEA area. You can, for example, give lectures, provide supervision and participate in activities that provide skills development or insights that can be used for organisational development.

The funding is aimed at researchers with a PhD degree who are employed at Lund University, as well as collaboration partners at select partner universities in countries that are newly associated or soon to be associated to the Horizon Europe programme.

The funds, up to a maximum of SEK 60 000 (SEK 25 000 within Europe), are intended to develop collaborations that have the potential to lead to externally funded research projects and joint publications.

The call is open for applications in all academic fields and for collaborations with the following countries and universities 

  • Canada – McGill University, McMaster University, Université de Montréal, University of British Columbia and University of Toronto 
  • New Zealand – University of Auckland, University of Canterbury and University of Otago 
  • Switzerland – ETH Zürich, University of Zürich and Université de Genève
  • United Kingdom – Imperial College London, The University of Edinburgh, University College London, University of Cambridge, University of Glasgow and University of Oxford 
  • South Korea – Korea University, POSTECH and Seoul National University 
  • Ukraine – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv 

Applications are made through a specific application form and should include the purpose of the collaboration, description of activities, and confirmation of interest from the researcher at the partner university.

The activities must take place by 31 July 2025.
