Great interest in the deputy vice-chancellor post – nine go on to the next stage

Over 30 people were nominated or applied for the post of deputy vice-chancellor of Lund University, starting on 1 January 2021.

Of these, the Recruitment Committee selected nine people for the first round of interviews. The candidates called to a first interview are:

  • Kristina Eneroth, senior lecturer Lund University
  • Lena Eskilsson, senior lecturer Lund University
  • Karin Hall, professor Lund University
  • Anna Lyrevik, senior lecturer Lund University
  • Martin Malmsten, professor University of Copenhagen
  • Annika Mårtensson, professor Lund University
  • Lena Neij, professor Lund University
  • Maria Persson, senior lecturer Lund University

After the first round of interviews, the Recruitment Committee will select which candidates are to undergo in-depth interviews and tests with external recruitment consultants. The remaining candidates in the process will then have a second interview with the Recruitment Committee.

In November, the Recruitment Committee will present one or more candidates to the Electoral College, which will interview the candidates and vote for the candidate that they recommend. The University Board will appoint a new deputy vice-chancellor at its meeting on 15 December.

The board decided previously to recommend Erik Renström as vice-chancellor of Lund University, starting on 1 January 2021. The Government formally appoints the vice-chancellor and its decision is expected in November.
