During the autumn, the Ethics Advisory Board was given a new remit and has been renamed the Council for Ethics and Academic Freedom. Last week, the council organised a well-attended seminar on the theme of safe spaces in teaching. It was a very interesting seminar. Senior lecturer Rebecca Selberg started with a talk on the theme of Trigger Warnings and then followed a panel discussion between Elin Bommenel (Faculty of Social Sciences), Stefan Lindgren (Faculty of Medicine) and Emma Svensson (LUS). Many thanks to everyone who participated!
The vice-chancellor has also entrusted senior lecturer Johan Östling with a special assignment over the coming year to facilitate and highlight discussions, debates and issues concerning academic freedom.
