Our European university collaboration, EUGLOH (European University Alliance for Global Health), continues to develop. After the new start in January this year, four new partner universities joined the alliance (Alcala, Hamburg, Novi Sad and Tromsö). We are now nine universities that in the coming four years (minimum) will be working together in education, external engagement and research collaborations.
Something new is that within the alliance the role of chair is to rotate between the partner universities, and it is very pleasing that the first to take on the role is Lund University. This entails, among other things, that I will act as chair of the alliance’s Executive Board.
We see the Annual Summit as a possibility to firmly establish the work of EUGLOH among LU’s staff and the hope is that many have an interest in this and the opportunity to take part! The theme for the meeting is Building bridges between education and research and we are now working intensively to put the programme together.
Among other things, the programme will feature exciting sessions on themes such as Art and Health, Agenda 2030 and EU – a vision of an integrated education and research and innovation area. Besides this, I am personally very much looking forward to the half-day workshop we will have with the alliance’s Executive Board members in order to get to know each other and our universities better and be able to discuss the goals and visions of the collaboration together!
