New pause program to prevent occupational injuries

Ill-health resulting from sedentary, static or repetitive work causes major problems for employees. The University has now purchased a pause program, Pausit, which all employees can download to their computers.

Pausit’s break program offers pause exercises during the working day. It is a computer-based tool that helps you to do exercises that prevent stiffness and pain in the back, shoulders, head and neck. It also reduces stress and improves blood circulation.

You choose how often and how long you want to exercise. You also choose the way in which you exercise – either a mix of exercises for areas such as the new neck, back, shoulders and shoulder blades, or exercises for a specific area such as the back.

The program offers over 100 exercises developed in consultation with physiotherapists, ergonomists and orthopaedic specialists. The program reminds you when it is time to exercise and provides statistics on how much you have exercised. It is available in Swedish or English.

If you have EGA, LUMac or PLS computer: Download direct via ”Software center” or ”Self service”. (for PC: browse the start menu, search for: Software center for Mac: browse Self service) - PausIt.
