Odeum has been granted SEK 800,000 by the foundation Sparbanksstiftelsen Finn for a period of two semesters to expand its activities at Science Village Hall, starting in 2025.

A new concert venue, Science Village Hall, will be completed at Brunnshög in the spring of 2025. Conferences, concerts and other events will be staged at the hall.

“The donation will be used to cover the additional costs involved in arranging concerts at a brand-new concert venue. In addition, the funding will also provide a basis for interesting guest performances by regional and national ensembles,” says Patrik Andersson, director of Odeum.

Odeum is the University’s own concert and event organisation located centrally at Palaestra et Odeum on the University Square. It is a meeting place for hundreds of students, teaching staff and researchers, and Odeum’s loyal audience.

“The Main University Building will be renovated over a four-year period and Odeum needs to hold its larger concerts at other venues,” says Patrik Andersson.

Odeum is committed to ensuring the University has a strong artistic presence at the newly built concert hall at Brunnshög together with other organisations, such as Musik i Syd, and thereby strengthen the University’s cultural profile.
