The Administrative Prize for 2024 has been awarded to HR specialist Anna Sjösten, HR Division, and work environment coordinator Johan Tejler, Department of Chemistry, who each receive SEK15,000 towards their own professional development.

The Administrative Prize is an annual award for outstanding administrative efforts of an innovative nature that have contributed to the University’s development, or for exceptional service and efficiency. The prize-winners each receive SEK 15,000 towards their own professional development.

With this prize, the University Management wishes to recognise excellent efforts in administration throughout the University. The Administrative Prize is awarded at the University’s annual academic ceremony.

Excerpts from the nominations:

Johan Tejler

“Since Johan Tejler took up the position as work environment coordinator, he has achieved a sustained improvement in the work environment at the Department of Chemistry. With commitment and a wealth of initiatives – far above what can be expected – Johan has developed work environment management at the Centre for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering to the extent that the workplace is now highlighted by the authorities as a good example for others, both within and outside Lund University. With his sound knowledge of chemistry in combination with considerable flexibility and attention to detail, he has steadily developed our safety-related work to the benefit of both the work environment and production.”

Anna Sjösten

“Anna Sjösten has been crucially important in Lund University’s achievement of today’s strong systematic, coordinated and well-functioning work environment management. She has extensive knowledge, an outstanding ability to collaborate and continuously contributes to further develop and enhance the University’s preconditions for offering a good, safe and secure work environment.

She is thoroughly professional and known for her ability to cooperate with co-workers, students, employee organisations and health and safety organisations.

Networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange are guiding principles for her. She also has a rare talent of using humour and seriousness to enable people to thrive, dare to discuss, reach a consensus and work towards common goals. In this way, she personally helps to a very high degree to provide a good work environment, and, in a number of ways and on several occasions, Anna Sjösten has shown that her working method contributes to efficiency and service in an extraordinary way.”
